Why the world buys more Pearl River pianos than any other brand
Founded in Guangzhou in 1956, Pearl River grew from China's leading piano maker into the largest piano manufacturer in the world. Today it builds pianos under the Pearl River, Ritmüller and Kayserburg names, and since 2016 has held a majority stake in the German maker Schimmel.
That scale matters to you as a buyer. Pearl River combines traditional craftsmanship with precise CNC machinery in one of the newest piano factories in the world, so each piano is built to consistent standards, with components you'd expect on far more expensive instruments.
The result is a piano with a warm, balanced tone, a dependable action and the stability to hold its tuning, at a price that makes Pearl River one of the best values in acoustic pianos.

A Pearl River for every stage of playing
A first acoustic piano
For beginners and growing families, a Pearl River upright offers real hammers, strings and touch, the foundation a digital piano can't fully replace, at an approachable price.
Teachers, schools and churches
Consistent build quality and reliable tuning stability make Pearl River a practical choice for teaching studios, classrooms and worship spaces that play every day.
Moving up to a grand
A Pearl River baby grand or grand piano is one of the most affordable ways to step up from an upright or digital to the touch and projection of a grand.
Pearl River grand piano sizes
A longer grand gives you longer strings, a larger soundboard and a fuller bass. The bars are drawn to scale on a 4'6" to 6'6" axis.

Pearl River upright pianos range from compact consoles for small spaces to taller studio uprights with a fuller bass. The taller the upright, the longer its strings and the richer its tone.
Components you'd expect on a more expensive piano
German Röslau strings
Pearl River uses Röslau piano wire from Germany, the same industry-standard, high-tensile strings found in many premium pianos, for clarity and tuning stability.
All-spruce tapered soundboard
A solid spruce soundboard, tapered for better resonance, gives Pearl River grands their warm, full tone.
PR 2.0 hammers
Pearl River's PR 2.0 hammers use premium felt over hornbeam wood cores for a more consistent, responsive tone from note to note.
Multi-ply maple pinblock
A 17-ply cross-banded maple pinblock grips the tuning pins firmly, helping the piano hold its tuning through Arizona's swings between dry air and air conditioning.
